ABOUT:
My passions are history and literature. I want to understand how the world works, how we got here, and how humans as thinking, feeling, reactive beings deal with all this. Seven years ago, I decided to devote myself to writing full-time. Late start, I know. But honestly, I had a lot of personal growth to do before I could reclaim my font of creativity.
Grist for the writer's mill is what I tell myself about the decades I spent campaigning for a variety of good causes. I got to know political and business leaders, celebrities of all stripes, and a lot of smart, hardworking, compassionate people (and a few snakes who should have been more careful). My adventures in "making the world a better place" would fill a whole collection of short stories.
Along the way I was privileged to study with thought leaders and practitioners of spirituality and human potential. My first book is a memoir of the six years I spent at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.
For those of you expecting a more traditional author's bio: Elizabeth has two graduate degrees from UCLA and has written reams of successful proposals and PR material. More recently she participated in the Catamaran writers conference and the Santa Barbara writers conference, and is a continuing student of literature at California State University Monterey Bay. Elizabeth is a member of the Authors Guild and the California Writers Club. Originally from the UK, she lives on the Monterey Peninsula with her husband, and volunteers at Tor House, the early twentieth century home of poet Robinson Jeffers.
